THE BEST OF YOURSELF

It is really sad how most of us nowadays condemn ourselves. We always feel that we are not good enough for anything. The main cause for this condemnation is comparison. We compare ourselves to people and their abilities, especially our peers.
Once we see how perfect they are in something we couldn't do, we just conclude that they are better than us. Haven't we heard this saying '' Everybody comes with their own head''.
When God created us, he created each of us as uniquely separate individuals. What my friend can do is different from what I can do. I can learn yes, but I won't be as perfect as my friend. That is why I am me and he/she is my friend.
The more we look down at ourselves, the more we feel imperfect about ourselves.
There is something I call being the best of yourself. Learning to be the best of ourselves, helps us grow stronger.
Whatever we do, we should try to be the best of ourselves and not try to be better than someone else. When we believe in our capabilities and not under look ourselves because of people's achievements, the best in us will come out.
When ever we put effort in things we do, it shouldn't be because we want to be better than someone, but because we want to be the best of ourselves and build ourselves up.
So now, everything we do, let us do it with a mind set that we can achieve anything and be the best of ourselves.

DEEP BREATH part 1

The sound of the gunshots woke me up from sleep. I heard little children screaming outside. I quickly put on a black t-shirt and a short lemon nicker. I ran outside and saw a death pool of catholic sisters and some children, blood flooded the whole environment. I ran to where the other children were and I saw them crying with blood stained hands and clothes. Tears filled my eyes but I couldn't cry because I knew it wasn't the time for emotions. I closed the door of the room where they were hiding and told them to keep shut. All of a sudden, the whole place became really quiet, then I could hear their voices. I peeped through a small hole in the door and saw them with guns, cutlass and all sorts of arms. They walked through the dead bodies and made sure no one was alive by shooting them twice. There was no conscience in their eyes. There was no pity. At some point, I asked myself if they were humans, because I knew every human being ...
